About the event
The World Corporate Golf Challenge is the biggest Corporate Golf Tournament in the world since its inception 29 years ago. The WCGC was established by the football legend Sir Bobby Moore, recognising the fact that golf and business combined exceptionally well and that corporations held golf days at every level to entertain their top clients. In India, RN Sports Marketing (RNSM) is the longest running and most successful licensee of the event worldwide since 2001. The World Corporate Golf Challenge-India is now in its 24th edition. The globally recognized, prestigious annual golf tournament is the official qualifying tournament to select the Indian team that will represent the country in the annually hosted World Final.
Annually the qualifying rounds are held in four cities in India. Four winners from each city win a spot in the National Final which is held at an overseas location. The top two winners from the National Final go on to represent India at the World Final amongst teams from 40 other Countries.
The WCGC World Final has over 7500 corporate executives competing to be crowned “Champions of World Corporate Golf Challenge”. Indians have constantly excelled in the last decade, clinching the title in 2008 and 2015 besides recording multiple runner-up finishes (2010, 2011,2014 & 2019).
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
- Players may enter by invitation only.
- Players will be competing individually in two handicap categories.
- The two handicap categories will be determined on the day of the tournament.
- Scores will be calculated on 18 Holes individual Stableford Competition.
- Players need to input their handicap index when filling in the online registration to be eligible to participate.
- Players handicap Index will be converted as per Slope Rating of the golf course.
- Only Handicap Certificate from an IGU recognized 18-hole Golf Course to be eligible to compete for the National Final.
- Only valid Handicaps which are variable will be accepted. A variable handicap is a handicap that is displayed on the notice-board of the declared home club.
- Maximum handicap permissible for men and ladies is 24.
- Players must be 25 years of age or above as on 1st October 2024 to be eligible to participate.
- Amateur golfers who have represented India and ranked in the top 20 of the Indian Golf Union Men’s Merit List in the past 25 years are not eligible to participate.
- Professional Golfers/ Coaches are not eligible to play.
- Golf Operations staff employed at golf courses, golf ranges and other golf facilities are not eligible to compete in the Tournament.
- Golf Club Members playing from club slots are not eligible to compete for the National Final.
- Directors or staff of companies engaged in golf event promotion or management are not eligible to compete.
- Play will be strictly in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and in accordance with the Local Rules as approved by the tournament committee.
- In case of any dispute, the tournament committee’s decision will be final.
- The two top winners from the National Final will travel to the World Final in Europe 2025.
- In order to expose as many players as possible to the world final experience, past world finalists may not be eligible for the National Final for the 5 editions of the WCGC in India after the year of the World Final in which they participated.
- Entries and handicaps will be accepted by the WCGC India tournament committee at its sole discretion.
- The Committee reserves the right to alter any handicap index furnished by a player if it so deems fit.
